Mike Huckabee Drops Out

March 4th, 2008 9:38 pm by Chester Lunt ·

It’s official. He dropped out tonight after McCain swept all four contests in Texas, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Ohio. This leaves only John McCain and Ron Paul in contention for the nomination, and a whole lot of delegates up in the air. While not entirely surprising, it certainly does show Huckabee’s pledge to go it all the way to have been hollow.

Also going on, Clinton has reduced her deficit in Texas from 56-43 to 53-46 with 3% reporting, and has been projected the winner of Rhode Island. She is still leading Ohio, now 60-38.

Those who refer to John McCain as a “political maverick” are disingenuous at best or outright liars who seek to mislead at worst.

Truth to tell, McCain is a tired old neocon warmongering hack who will continue the Bush policies that have brought this nation to the brink of economic collapse and international disgrace.

People ultimately get the kind of government they deserve. Shame on you, America, when you could have chosen the last honest man in government, the Honorable Dr. Ron Paul.

By June of 2009, every other car on the freeway will be sporting bumper stickers saying, “Don’t blame me, I voted for Ron Paul.”

    It’s interesting that Ron Paul
got over 35000 votes for his Congressional Campaign just
    in his district alone.
    However in the Presidential Race
he got that many for the whole state??
    Something is up with this.
    It seems almost impossible.
Especially since most of the Precincts
reported almost no MCcain supporters at the Caucuses.
I sure hope something is going to be looked into with all this.
    It’s time to call fire.

No one is surprised. Huckabee was probably just promised the VP position or possibly some other high up job just to stay in long enough so that the establishment would have us believe this is a “real” election. Romney had a better chance of taking more delegates from McCain so the establishment had to get rid of him first. No true conversative in their right mind would vote for John McCain. The contrast between Dr. Paul and McCain is so apparent! We just need to protect against vote fraud, which is obviously rampant!!! We need to get organized and sign affidavits that we did indeed vote for Ron Paul! We need to get everyone we can to March on Washington for Ron Paul!!! ronpaulmarch.com

Look at the presidential vote totals for Paul in his precinct at this page:

    http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/county/#TXREPMAPprimary

They do not add up too more than 16 or 17 K. Are you telling me that 35K voted for him as a congressman, but only half voted for him for president?

    What is going on????

Our precinct selected Huckabee with Ron Paul taking a good number. Now we have Ron Paul delegates and Huckee is gone.

    GO RON PAUL!!!

I doubt Huckabee was offered a VP spot. The more likely scenario at this point is that there was a lot of pressure on him to drop out, and he was afraid that staying in beyond this point could hurt his future political opportunities.

They key difference between his campaign and Paul’s campaign is that while Huckabee is trying to woo those in power to support him, Ron Paul is trying to defeat them.
