Paul Leads District in Early Returns

March 4th, 2008 8:39 pm by Chester Lunt ·

Ron Paul is currently leading Chris Peden for the Republican Primary for the District 14 Congressional Seat with 68% of the vote to Peden’s 32%. Only around 3% of precincts are in, but the early numbers are in line with both the Ron Paul Campaign’s internal polling and independent polling carried out in the local media. It certainly is a far cry from the 43-32 number floated around by several prominent bloggers out there.

In other contests, Obama is leading in the Texas Presidential primary. If the numbers hold, it could be fairly devastating to the Clinton campaign as the margin isn’t even very close - 56% to 43%. Clinton is leading in Ohio, but trailing in Vermont and Rhode Island. Some have speculated a poor showing in Texas on the part of Clinton could spell an end to her campaign, and there is some additional speculation that Huckabee could drop out of the race tomorrow after McCain swept all 4 contests today. But we will have to wait and see if that comes to fruition.

You can follow the Congressional results as they come in here.

Congratulations to the freedom loving people of the 14th Congressional District of Texas for re-electing their stalwart Champion of the Constitution, the Honorable Dr. Ron Paul, to his House seat. What a real shame the rest of the country was not as wise in their choice of Presidential candidates.

Their rejection of demagoguery and “politics as usual” as personified by Chris Peden represents the best of what is left of the Republic that once was America.

    The Country WILL wake up.
And find out that Ron Paul is the
one they should have voted for.

The most active freedom and liberty
    advocate in Congress.

    The word is getting around.
